Spending a couple weeks on a DOT survey on The Kenai peninsula. Here is a few pics of survey camp.
On the Alaska K town tour next. That would be Kiana, Kotzebue, and Ketchikan...looking forward to tacking Portland on the end...I'm starting to reach my theoretical aerobic capacity...
Love the shot from under the bridge. It is a reminder that not every inch of Alaska is rugged, woodsy, swampland, ice-covered, pre-historic and inaccessible. Just 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999 percent of those inches.
Great country, and lots of it.
What is the town of Hope like these days? When I was there in '68 there was no electricity. Very peaceful.
"Urban assault vehicle"!
I love it, lmao:-D
Nice pictures, love the invert shot on the culvert.

I actually never went to Hope so I dont know...it was another 8 miles up the road from the pullout where I got access to 4g. ... but from the car or two on the road I'd say it must be quite sleepy town.

stole that nickname from the "Stripes" movie with Bill Murray

Fremont Troll
In your travels have you ever gone to the center of the universe to see the Fremont Troll?

Fremont Troll
He didn't move much since June 2012.....

The mountain was out that day.

Fremont Troll
Cool! B-) (Yeah, I saw you were in this neck of the woods some time back.)
I never realized that he's clutching a real VW Bug in his hand! Learn something new every day.
Thanks, Daryl. Maybe I'll live long enough to make it back there.
Where's the bottle of Captain Morgan? ,lol
