Hi guys

Have just started out on my own and have a S7 arriving on removed link I need to get two traverse kits but the prices for the Trimble kits are mental! I'd like to make sure that the height from the base of the total station to the measuring unit inside is the same height as from the bottom of the prism base to the center of the removed link Anyone know what this distance is in mm?

Also do I have to get Trimble? Are there cheaper alternatives like Seco that are any removed link

Thanks in advance, Andrew

You don't have to, nothing. As long as the prism constant is correct, you can go with any brand. I always set it up over a raised tack, and shoot down on the tack for line and distance, and then turn up and shoot the prism, and then compare.
