This Hiper XT is our oldest receiver. It ran as a static receiver for 8 hours today.

I found it still running.

Now it has a solid red battery light which I think means it isn't charging.

The status and record lights are blinking rapid red and it won't shut down or go into zero power mode, it just comes back on again and the red lights start flashing as before.

It won't connect so I can download it which will be a problem.

I find nothing in the manual about this.

Does anyone know what it all means?

Dave,

I have had the battery light go solid red before. I put the unit on charge for awhile, and it would eventually get enough of a charge to connect and download, however, it sounds like you need to put some new batteries in.

I replaced the two batteries in my Hiper base unit for about $60 a year or so ago. I picked up the batteries from an outfit in the Pacific Northwest I believe.

I hope this helps.

Good luck,
Jimmy

Solid red battery light means battery is dead.

To charge you will need to press the RESET button, then turn on.

As others have said it just needs more time. Also if you have trouble with the usb the use serial to download. If red light doesn't change fire back and well try some voodoo.

Dave,

We are having the same problem you experienced in 2013. What was the issue and how did it resolve? We are desperate to get this fixed.
