Hey, I want to switch the radio types on base & my rover (i.e. make the base a rover and the rover a base). I had them hooked up to TRU, but I cannot find this option. Anyone know how to do this?

To do that operation in TRU, you have to change the Application Mode to Modem Managing. That function option is selected on the Device pulldown menu.

That said, if you have a matched set of HiPer Pros, you CAN change the base from transmit to receive. The rover, however, if it was bought as a rover, has a "receiver-only" modem installed in it and cannot be set to function as a base.

TRU will not connect with some of the earlier versions of Hiper Lites. Are you getting "The modem cannot be detected." Message?
If so you may need to connect to these modems using Modem-TPS.
I will be more than happy to send you that utility software. Just drop me an email @ [email protected]

For the Drop down, Make sure you have Ser/C selected. That is the serial port the modem is on. And, where it looks for it.

So w/modem TPS I should be able to do what I'm asking correct? Turn my base into the rover and the rover into a base or are these paired up like the one poster mentioned where it cannot be done?

I mentioned that you might not be able to exchange base/rover functions but I was of the mistaken impression that you had HiPer Pro units, of which that would be true. All other Topcon HiPer receivers except the HiPer+ can have the modem function switched from transmit to receive. The HiPer+ cannot if it has the original PacCrest modem in it which is a receive-only modem.

With modem TPS you can change the radio from transmit to a receive (base to rover) and from receive to transmit (rover to base). In PCCDU you change port C to send the applicable correction (RTCM or CMR) for the base and receive (RTCM or CMR) for the rover.
