I have one of padded work belts with suspenders from Lowe's. I wore it quite frequently when I was doing a lot of construction staking. I haven't worn it it a few years. I have a couple of leather pouches on it, a tape holder, hammer holder, paint can holder, etc.

It works for me.

I use one called "Ross".

He can carry quite a bit and is easy for me to use and does not wear me down over the day. 😉

I used to wear a tool belt with a pouch on one side, a hammer loop on the other, a spray can holster behind that, and heavy duty suspenders attached to it.

Now I switched to a class 2 vest with the big back pocket. I keep the 4lb hammer in the back pocket, ribbon in the front pocket sticking out of the grommet so I can pull it out, and if I'm setting tacks I use one of those magnetic bracelets that they stick to. I find it easier than the pouch. Plus you have your field book, pencils, markers and calculator right there on you as well. It gets hot in the summer, but so does the belt/suspender combo.

I also like the vest because it looks more official when you're snooping around the adjoiner's fence corner looking for boundary evidence.

I have a thick leather one I got at Lowes. It has my machete and a leatherman on it.

The rest of the stuff is in the vest.
