I've done similar, but if I know I'm going to be so l set up on slick concrete I use a homemade version of the chain-type stabilizer. Mine is just 3 hardwood squares with a hole drilled partway through, each joined by screw eye and lightweight chain to a central split ring. It wraps up into a compact package and is easy to carry around, yet reliably keeps the legs from slipping.
