Started on wrapping up a plat about 6:30 a.m. and am heading out the door in a couple of minutes to hand it off to the client. Then on to the courthouse for most of the day. No field work today. Currently 30 F with 25 mph winds and a mix of ice/sleet/snow adding to the quarter inch on the ground.
Y'all be careful out there.
Same thing here, going to courthouse for research and finish plat.....nasty here also....
I may get out of my jammies today...I may not.
I called in and made a request from TxDot for some r/w info.
Gonna take the trash out....
Still struggling with mister motivation. I have two drafting jobs due by 12.31. Heck that is still more than a couple days away. Sure don't want to overdo things here...

This puts to rest- for the most part- that you sleep nekkid :excruciating:.... then again, it may mean you might just put something on.....

Summertime maybe...it's just too damned cold to sleep in the buff now.
I've got me a pair of adult sized 'Spiderman' jammies (complete with feet on them and non-skid dots on the bottoms)...I promise to never post a photo...there's probably a law against something that horrible.
Went in this morning to drop off the short person at day care, went to the office to make sure nothing had fallen apart over the holiday and that everyone that was supposed to show up was accounted for, processed 3 days worth of email, took off until Wednesday am. Ran some errands in town and came home to do some end of the year stuff..... if I'm a big enough pest, Mrs. File will kick me out and make me go back to work.... I need to get a good heater in my garage...single digits is not conducive to working out there....

No, I was out running elevations along levees in the pouring down 35 degree driving rain. They starting bagging today....at "most" spots the river crest will miss topping the levee by 0.15'.....

I hear ya buddy. I talked to a friend today, and they have gotten two calls today about shooting elevations for the expected floods coming in the very near future.
TV news tonight from Joplin, MO had a clip from the high school in Baxter Springs, KS that showed the flood waters being level with the crossbars on the goal posts on the football field.
Survived my meeting with the client but I was 5 minutes late and he was 20 minutes late. That's only because I left 15 minutes earlier than normal to go 10 miles to meet with him.
Heater was not working in the vault at the courthouse but I was so busy slinging deed books I barely noticed. Let them run me out at closing time. Headed back again tomorrow as I had only got my search up to December 19, 1899. There are now 18 tracts, all metes and bounds, in a quarter section at the edge of a small town. Four of those touch the subject tract but there are enough oddities that I'm looking at about a dozen of them to make sure I get it sorted out correctly. Of course, the oldtimers assumed that it was 160 rods by 160 rods. The first split was the south 100 acres, which suddenly became the south 100 rods while the remainder became the north 60 rods. Forget about real numbers just use a perfect number of rods.
I'm sending out two proposals and meeting with a client to collect payment and give him his plats. Then I will submit said plats to the city to get on the planning commission agenda.
After that, its time to pack for a visit to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for a gathering New Years Eve!
What the heck is that on New Year's Eve.? A gathering of AMWAY salespeople for an annual convention?
