a.k.a. A Walk in the Park.
What a great day. Sunny, 75 degrees, cool breeze, topo/site plan on a beach and best of all spent the day with one of the kids. 🙂
Views from the gun. Sorry no bikinis. (N44.36260 W086.20744)

They wanted elevations into the lake 100 feet. My son loved this job! We saved it for the end of the 10 hour day and he was ready for a swim.

Who needs a vacation with a job in paradise?
We ended the day at the ice cream shop across the street.
Very very nice.
That is one handsome Big Help.
Thanks for sharing.
Looks like a good time !!!! Nice equipment in the background.... not sure you meant to include it but nice!!!

What a perfect day!
Did it feel like working?
And great you could share this job with one of your kids, now he knows what his father is actually doing all day.
thanks for sharing,
Christof.
Scott,
Nice pics. I noticed that you are using a backpack to transport your Robotic TS that is similar to mine. What kind of backpack is that and how well does it work? I'm looking to purchase one for mine.
Thanks,
75F in the air. But, what was the water temp.? I can recall being in the water in the far south end of Lake Michigan, getting hit by dead alewives, on Labor Day and the water being downright cold.

SECO and it is great. Have been using it for 6 years and it was used when I got it. The hard case has been in storage from the day I got this. There is enough room inside that the battery is in there with a pad between it and the TS. The pocket on the front has a Velcro adjustable holder that fits the DC.
This is the one with the steel frame, which I think is a must. It rides in the back seat of the truck and sits on uneven ground without ever tipping. The only complant I have is that it needs a stiffer bottom and a Velcro strap inside to hold the TS from flopping around inside. This is only an issue because I like to leave the battery and DC cord screwed into the base of TS and the cords get bent a bit. Not sure why I have not taken the time to fix that myself?

He is in the inland waters of Portage Lake, it dumps right into Lake Michigan in the far distance you can see behind him. Yes, the water temp in the big lake can change from 65 to 45 when the wind turns. But this boy is a 14 year old Northern Michigan native. If there is not ice floating in it, he will swim. Now Lake Superior, That's cold.
we camped at Luddington State Part last summer just a few mile south. What a nice area! We also rode bikes north up the shore of Lake Michigan to the Lighthouse.
:good:
HC: The alewives have not been an issue now for more than 10 years. I rarely see them anymore and have heard the sport fishing industry complain they wish for more. Wind direction is key to the surface temps. Generally, though, the water temp has been quite cold this year, probably due to our cold spring.
I love lake jobs this time of year, but to me, the lake is beautiful year-round.
Here's a pic I took last year early one morning:

"I said shoot it, not ride it."
Golly mercy, I laughed my a$$ off on that!!!! My neighbor Lady is probably wondering what the hell he's laughing at around 0500 hours on a Sunday morning.
Awesome pic! The first thing that came to my mind was this:
"There is a moment in every dawn when light floats and creation holds its breath."
I think that comes from the first "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" book.
Really beautiful!
They were omnipresent in the '75-'78 time period. But, my complaints were poohpoohed by the natives as they pointed out how a few years earlier they were so thick dozers were brought in to dig huge pits in the shoreline so they could be buried by the millions.
