If you feel this category is in error then petition Wendell and I'm sure he will change it.

But this weekend I rode around the mountains and visited my old buddy Mount Scott Reset.

I'm sure the footprints (drill holes) were from 1966 and not from the original survey but I could be wrong. Magnificent view of a bajillion miles. And hundreds of other marks including many on Fort Sill.

Mark still stable and all the accessories and the azimuth down the hill.

So I will update the NGS sheet in a day or two. I put my hands on them.

So then to examine a new dam project out on the refuge. More engineering related and not so much surveying. Scouring had put the dam in danger of failure so they had to drain it and fix it.

Nice work and hopefully it will hold up as long as the build itself which was part of the WPA project in the 40's.

So then on to one of our local legends. The Tower of the Screaming Woman. Well off the beaten path and quite a hike. Lore has it that a women screams each night from this location. I found bobcat and mountain lion tracks all around it near the creek that runs along side it. Bobcats don't make that sound but mountain lions do. I've seen many out on the range. Camping and just being in the places where the refuge says not to go.

I have lost my train of thought. I hate that when it happens. Sigh.

Great pictures Deral. A bobcat may not sound like a woman screaminng, but I can tell you from experience that when heard in the dark it can make all the hair on the back of your neck stand straight up.
