Had a similar experience with a pressurized 12" PVC water main. Guy was using a probe rod looking for a 12 inch water pipe. Due to the unexpected shallow depth he thought he was tapping on a rock. Brought out a hammer to tap through the rock, however, he was tapping (too hard) on top of the PVC pipe and caused a rupture. The explosion lifted the three of us and the ground we were standing on about 4 feet into the air before the water broke through the crust of ground cover. It's an experience you won't soon forget.

@jed you got that right!?ÿ in 2002 I was at the bank depositing my pay check and taking to my wife on the phone.?ÿ 15 minutes later I got home and found her lifeless body on the floor.

She had just turned 39 and died instantly from an artery exploding in her brain stem.

Last week we had a SUE crew punching holes with a vac truck in what they thought was a decent area.?ÿ They started hearing what they thought were firecrackers then noticed a woman chasing a man down the street while shooting at him with probably a.380 pistol. One of the bullets struck a brick building five feet above their heads.
