There is a free utility called the Spectra Precision Style Sheet Converter that will convert .survey files to other, more readable formats.

In the .survey job you are interested in getting coordinates or raw data from, go to the Export menu under the File menu options.

There you can choose from a variety of export formats. Remember that in this context, "export" means file format conversion. Among the options are to convert to an ASCII point file. If you need the raw data, you will need to export a .job & .raw to get that in a readable file. Those files can be downloaded using Mobile Device Center or Active Sync among other options.
