Just delivered one of the most complicated ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey maps I have ever performed. Whew - glad that's over! Time to collect my thoughts and return some calls/emails I have neglected while performing this job... Ring, Ring! ALTA client calling - wants me to change the name of the party we are contracted with to a third party who has never been mentioned before!!
Any thoughts?
The original contract has been concluded, hope you have been paid.
Extending services to any new parties was not within the scope of the original contract.
Any new party will need to notify me and negotiate their own requests.
When they call, I inform that will be an additional $$$$ or NO, I do not want to do that.

Umm...contracted...do you mean certified?
If someone else wants to sign your contract that will be fine. The terms at this point are cash on the barrelhead. When you get paid you will release the original contractee.
If you mean that they want a name added to the certification and another removed it will be T&M extra. Presuming there is nothing unusual about the new "name".
