Has anyone used the Surveyor Reference Manual by George Cole for studying the FS exam or PS exam? How was your experience? Was it worth buying??ÿ

I did not use it to pass the test, but it looks like a good resource.?ÿ I found that doing a lot of practice questions while timing myself was helpful.?ÿ I also made sure that I read and took notes on Boundary Control and Legal Principals, by Brown et al.?ÿ

I keep the 5th Edition at my desk.?ÿ

Judging by the post it note flags, I did find it useful for exam prep in 2011. The questions at the end of the chapters were good for preparation.

But, during the PS exam, I never recall reaching for it.

I do flip through it on occasion though, so I do still find it useful from time to time I guess.?ÿ

I used it around 2015 for the FS. I read it from cover to cover but I also complimented it with NCEES FS practice test, which I urge anyone to get.

Another good book for law concepts (which also come in the FS) is Land Surveying Law, by John E. Keen. It's simple to read and has graphical boundary problems, which helped me a lot for the FS/PS.

I used the surveyor reference manual for a majority of my studying for the FS and found it very helpful but don't spend too much time on each section as there are many advanced topics that won't be on the test.?ÿ
