The hill is steeper than it looks in the photograph. There's a special button in the Jeep that allows crawling down the hill without using the brakes. I had to use it here.

Historic boundaries and conservation efforts.

It does look pretty steep. It is very handy to be able to get close without just the use of your own two legs. I am working on big survey in the Appalachian Mountains and am considering taking a horse next time. I wonder if that makes all of my horse expenses tax deductible.

Heck yeah it does.

I've heard of a dude in my area that tried using llamas in rugged areas. He didn't know anything about llamas, but as it is with the blossoming of most disasters it seemed like a good idea at the time. Not sure if the tax breaks ever paid off on that.

Get a mule for those steep rugged terrain. I love a horse but a mule is more sure footed and can conquer just about any terrain. They are stubborn though.

Awesome.

A friend had the 4L engine in his stock Jeep and he could engage 4WD, put it in gear, and it would just slowly idle up some really steep hills.
