What difference does it make if I use mapping software for surveying? Say if I use pathfinder office to post-process data from survey grade receivers, is it less accurate than if I use TBC? Can I rely on pathfinder office to measure control points?

I have not used Pathfinder software, but if the data is collected at Survey grade (C1/C2/P1/P2, L1/L2, etc.) I would think it would be trust worthy. Just make sure Pathfinder does not decimate the data. Do you have a passive monument (survey grade) on the ground you could check to make sure the Pathfinder is telling the truth?

Speaking from dated prior experience, Pathfinders are pseudorange?ÿ based systems and the software processes for that.?ÿ Survey grade receivers get their accuracies from the carrier phase which Pathfinder Office did not process.
