Just wandering if there is anyone familiar with the brand. I am currently using a 1" Leica Tps 1200 robot for construction layout and I was thinking of buying a manual total station with reflectorless capability for those moments when you have to be in 2 oposite corners of the site at the same time. The price for the model listed is $ 3500 and it is 2", 500m reflectorless. A used Sokkia goes for over $6000. I understand that Stonex inherited some of Leica's "DNA" and I hope durability.

I have not used Stonex before. but the design and specs looks like it is oem from those china manufacturers.

If I remember correctly, Stonex buys their total stations from FOIF - a Chinese manufacturer.

That looks a lot like a reverse engineered Trimble 5603.

UniStrong owns Hemisphere [ http://gpsworld.com/hemisphere-gps-sells-chinese-unistrong/&apos ;">See This PR ] . I think they also own Foif. Stonex has good market share in Europe, and they actually have an impressive dealer network in the USA.
UniStrong builds a lot of the devices for Trimble (like the MobileMapper 50 ) and many other devices.
It is hard for me to judge, but UniStrong may be the largest GNSS company in China. Run by XP (Guo XinPing).
