Does the state/states you're licensed in allow a candidate to schedule the state specific exam at a time other than the April or October date? I know KY, AR, GA and OH do. Are there others?

Yes. North Carolina gives just the State Specific parts in April and October, plus January and July.

MI does. Its offered multiple times through out the year, and you only have to wait 90 days I believe if you fail it & need to retake it. I actually took & passed the state exam the summer before sitting for the NCEES PS exam that October.

Arizona does, but Oregon & California does not. I know Nevada has the test in January and I believe July by comity only as well as the normal April and October exams. I still need to finalize my paper work for Nevada though.

For those states that do require the tests to be administered on the testing dates, you could ask one state to proctor the test for another state. I did that one time and went to yy city, state to take their state test and then had them proctor the tests for two other states. It was a bum deal in that I only passed two of the tests and failed the third one. Rats!!!

Oh, and then there was the state exam where I scored an 81 and failed. That one sure did make me mad. I never retested so I never got registered in that state.
