I should check into this website more, you guys have had the best input in the past.

A programmer in the Warren, PA area did a great deal of work for me over many months to get my Tripod Data Systems Survey Pro disc loaded onto his Husky handheld FS3, which he offered for sale on-line. My old Husky handheld MP2500 is pretty shaky. Spectra Precision does not support nor was interested in this, of course.

I want to pay him for his work and buy his handheld but he and I have no way of knowing if his FS3 will actually run my Topcon 802A which is in great shape. I am on west coast. Is there anyone near his area that has the old Topcon w/ the two radio modems, batteries, cables, antennaes, and is willing to assist with a test run ?
Other than hoping for the above miracle, does anyone know if the FS3 model was also used for the Topcon 802A ?

I have used a Topcon 802a with a husky data collector running TDS. I only used it a couple of times. It was the first time I had used a Husky and was not impressed. However, it did work ok

Matt, do you recall if the handheld was the grey lightweight unit (MP2500) or a heavier unit called the FS-3 ?

Yes, the whole system is susceptible to interference by cell phones, so they had to upgrade to other hardware later.

I'm not sure. I know it was a grey unit but it is the only one I have had any experience with so I have no other comparison.
