On the beach in Connecticut, looking southwest towards NYC over LI sound. Tough day to do a two OPUS-RS session B-).
Dude
With a 15 mph breeze out of the north it feels like 9 degrees outside right now.
Thanks for making me feel even worse about the boss (me) forcing me to go dig up a bunch of corners this morning. 30 percent chance of a dusting of snow, too.
Dude
100% Chance our clay here is froze solid 12" deep and getting deeper. Would have loved a little blanket of snow to keep from having to drag the jack hammer every where.
Steve
Dude
It is about 46 degrees here in overcast Northeast Mississippi. I MAY have to use the toe of my boot to scuff the 1/8" ice off a point on a typical cold workday here.
Jackhammer? What's that?! B-)
I agree
B-)
Why not set your control by one of the signs or posts in the distance? Hopefully your control point is below grade otherwise your ears will be ringing when beachgoers slam their toes into your control point.
Now... how long are you going to run the sessions? I have a feeling there was a minimum of 4 hours each.
I agree
Aloha, FL/GA:
I agree!:-D 😀 😀
How's the weather today, Joe? 🙂
Yesterday during this GPS session it was great...sun felt good.
Now its getting colder o.O Not a big fan of the cold weather anymore. :-/
This week and next the high is suppose to be in the low 30's...booo.
Glad I have work though.
Just curious what the survey is all about?
As commented, a real toe jammer of a mark there.
Pretty quiet beach.
Reason for the survey...
Is to verify my RTK elevations based on a using a network. So I am doing a 2-hour RS session just to make sure. I have already checked my elevations on a town benchmark, and the two don't quite agree as much as I'd like. I have my suspicions about the town BM though.
This point didn't last too long after the session, I pulled it. And its a quite beach because it was 40° out when I did this.:-)
Reason for the survey...
Thanks Joe.
Mm. 40°!Fahrenheit! Definitely not beach weather.
When I hear /read 30° here my mind says Too Hot:-)
