Today I searched and found a monument set in cross country pipeline r/w in 2007 being the NWC of a property that our current Sherriff has since purchased.

Being a public official, everything containing his name is redacted from the search engine and books so it takes knowing local history to find his deed, lol.

Was surprised it was still there as about 8yrs ago two more 42in pipelines were added.

It was mangled on top and the cap was missing so I will check the location and rehabilitate it to new.

Found a bunch of clay pidgeon disks that were laying around a few hundred yards uphill and piled on top and around the monument.

Is that a Texas thing, or have others seen it??ÿ Makes no sense to me.

a lot of stuff goes on in the name of homeland security.....

A lot of LEO's put their residence's in ambiguously named trusts or rent for the purposes of anonymity.... With revolving door justice systems, you don't want the perp making it to your house before you get off shift..... sounds like Texas has made some statutory accomodations...

A friend of mine is a law enforcement officer. He moves a lot. So much so that he actually became a real estate agent as well. It all started with this; he arrested a guy, I'm not sure the charge, and the bad dude did a little time. About 6 months after the guy got out he was pulled over and the officer ended up searching the car. They found a dossier of info on my friend, including his address, pictures of his house, lists of his family members and their addresses, his work schedule... My buddy moved the next month and has been bouncing around ever since. He's still a cop but he can't wait to be done.

Got the mangled rod out and replaced with longer rebar and new cap, occupied and located by static today.

This will be my backsite tomorrow from the top of that far ridge.

From that next ridge I can see the new client's entire ranch he wants to create 1?ñac tracts for kids and map his fences and ponds on what remains.
