I haven't done this in forever, so I forget how. Also, I think I have only done it once.
When I take a SIM card from a hotspot and put it in the TSC3 how do I get it to "activate"?
I have one Verizon and one AT&T, aren't there some sort of special dial commands for each? ###***9 or some gibberish?

For AT&T those dial strings have been slowly phased out.
In the APN you simply put "broadband"
Make sure the username, password, and domain are blank.
