Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero
http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/the-rising/

Previous thread with pictures posted by Scott here: [msg]89113[/msg]

> From Steven Spielberg comes the story of Americans rebuilding a 16 acre plot in lower Manhattan, and healing a nation in the process. The new World Trade Center, which will rise 1,776 ft, will embody America's physical response to the 9/11 attacks.

I'm not sure which segment Scott will be in, but it seems that there will be 3 shows in succession, each being 1 hour in length. http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/daily.html

Must be our week for surveyors in the news. In about 45 minutes I'll be on a live interview on Adelaide radio. I trust that I will not have a cock up.

They usually broadcast live but today they also have a game on one of their stations so they have to block out all of their stations for live feeds. 95.3 out of south OZ. Don't know if it will be recorded our not for later playing. Maybe under their humor section.

I had my fisrt soccer practices(2) last night so it was DVred.
I watched about 1 1/2 episodes last night.
I thought that was ingenious how they managed to have the mohawk and urban cowboy iron workers 'face off' with each other on the steel erection to set the hellacious pace of construction by using the pride that they have inside of them through tradition of the work.

I will always be grateful to scott for taking SC and myself to the top of WTC after it was topped.
Also on scott's tour that day below ground zero, I did feel what the master planner talked about last night. I did get a sense in the quiet below of the tragedy of that day. It was sensory quiet but internally the tragedy of that day was very loud in my mind that it stopped me in my tracks.
The memorial seems to trying to accomplish what I felt that day. The tranquil setting of the pools and the trees fused with the evidence of the 9/11 event. The tridents forming a ghostly apparition as the soul of the memorial.
I think they got it right.

I also watched all 3 hours last night. I didn't see Scott although I could have missed it while moving my water sprinklers (no commercials). I enjoyed the show.

I did too. I think I saw the tall man in a few "crowd shots" but they certainly did not interview him. I like the show in general, but there is so much redundancy in the info and interviews it seemed like it was made for a typical ADHD/MTV viewer. They could have cut that down to about an hour and a half and it would have been as good or better in my opinion.
