Caller: "This is __________ from Home Advisors. I'm working with someone that needs someone to come out today and survey his property. I'm going down the list to find someone. Can you help him out?"

Me: "Ma'am, it's 9 am. There is no way I can send someone out there today. That's not how this works."

I could get such a person on the schedule for 3 weeks from today, maybe. If I decided that I liked them and their project.

If I'm answering the phone it means I'm in the office. And if I'm in the office it's conceivable that I could start the survey right away. And if the conditions were just right it's conceivable that I could actually finish the survey that very same day. But it sure wouldn't be cheap.

Let's not forget the rule of supply and demand.
My answer, " I might be able to getting someone there today. But being last minute, the price will higher than I normally charge."

At the very least the conversation is started and perhaps a new client is found.

If I'm reading between the lines correctly the person making the call isn't the client; therefore probably wouldn't be the one responsible for fees.

I'd ask what number I was on the list followed by the responses of those above me on the list.

Then review the fees for expedited services.

Mark, we are in the same boat and 3 weeks is really iffy!

"Expedited services". Is that the same as my "Bonus Incentive Plan"?

Need more bonus incentive pay... Need to set fees at percentage of value of property ... and survey one mansion a year...

Too many projects require at least a half day of research, if not more, before ever thinking about driving to the site. Getting it all done in one day would not necessarily be impossible but would be highly unlikely to occur.
