Okay technically this was a call back but I nearly fell out of my chair from laughter after I hung up. Nice lady (at least she sounded that way) needs a survey on her parents property. They originally owned the entire section that their house is on. Now there is a subdivision with 46 lots that have million dollar houses on it that was cut out. She wanted to now a time frame and price range.
Me "Ma'am I really don't like to quote a price when I haven't had a chance to do any research yet."
Her "I really don't care what you say can you just shoot me a range, say like $500."
Me "Has your parents house been surveyed before?"
Her "Well no not really."
At this point I'm informed they are actually wanting to cut out 27 acres around the house from the parent tract and they want me to meet them out there so they can show me where they think the lines of the 27 acres should be.
Me "Ma'am I would really need to survey the section in order to do what you need and that is going to be a lot more than $500."
Her "Oh, well I've got to go, can you call me back tomorrow."
Just have to laugh!
That's 2-1/2 times the $200 the nice lady offered me a while back!!
