I haven't rented GPS/GNSS equipment for a while, here's a price that I came across this morning:

Dual frequency base and rover

Daily $760
Weekly $2,300
Montly $6,900

Isn't it a bit high?

Maybe it's a method to drive up sales.

A couple of months ago I paid $350 per day. I rented a VRS rover, but the price was the same for a base/rover/radio setup.

I think the renting rates are strongly tied to the economic of the area, in an oil boom town (Ft McMurray, AB) it would be more expensive than say somewhere in a farm lands.

Please do not laugh 😉 I am renting my homemade GPS L1, static only receivers for 6$/day per one unit. They keep my receivers and pay me for only for those days they are using them. Well... this in on the other side of earth and the economic situation here is a "bit" different.

Yuriy

Would that be about 50 Hryvnia?

I spent some time Keiv back in 2001, and really enjoyed the time spent there (10 days or so).

Yuriy

yes it is 50 hryvnyas, the exchange rate to USD has changed a lot since 2001 🙂

Nice to hear from you! I have great memories with that city as well. I used to work there for 2 years 2000-2002.

In Calgary and Edmonton we're paying $300/day with a minimum 3 day rental care of Cansel.

Here in the Midwest:

The VRS system is definitely your best option if you're in an area with good cell coverage, and you will be able to check a number of points on a different day for good QC.

I don't know if Trimble has a VRS network in Canada.

paid $4000/mo a year ago for 2- R8 GNSS Model 2's, and a TSC2 collector, w/HPB450 radio. we wanted a backup system for a remote project, just in case. never needed it, but felt better about being WAY out there having extra equipment.

Might be a little high? My old rule of thumb is around 10% of the cost per month, so a $50K kit should run around $5000 a month, slightly higher than that rate on weekly or daily time frames.

Several of the posts to this thread generally support that kind of price range.
