My guess is he wonders how we are getting a position on a point without going to the field to look for them. I use lots of different methods, in the case of the one shown above I calculated?ÿSection 2 from actual corners located in Section 4. To find the corners in Section 4 I had used corners from Section 6 to calculate to the east. And for Section 6 I think I probably set a quad sheet into my drawing using my LDP projection and searched from numbers derived from the quad corners. Not the most accurate but using found corners on the quad and GLO plat geometry can get you fairly close for a search.
Mighty,
Very good, and pretty much what I do as well. There are SO many resources at our disposal these days, that getting within a few meters has become the norm, not the exception. I realize that many folks (surveyors) work in entirely DIFFERENT?ÿparts of the country, chase?ÿentirely?ÿdifferent types of surveys, and often COMPLETE a given "project" in a single?ÿfield?ÿvisit. In my case, projects last weeks, months, years, even decades on occasion, so my modus operandi is NOT applicable to everyone's business model or needs.
