It's that simple. The notice should contain a specific date or dates so the land owner can provide that access and maybe put their pit bull in the house while you are working.
Agreed, I hope you weren't thinking I was implying anything different. I would go further that I would try to get their open agreement. I just think there should be a remedy if a neighboring owner is not cooperating. There isn't in a lot of states.
Had a open carry renter that was watching the crew very nervously when we come to a cultivated field. He become very friendly when I instructed the crew to offset around his crop (pot patch).

Tom, no assumptions on my part.
I think if somebody enters private property un-announced, they will usually be confronted in one way or another to state their purpose.
In a high crime neighborhood..with trailer houses involved...I know what I would be expecting to encounter.

Last year I was doing some surveying in Miami for a environmental project for the city. We had to paint over a thousand marks in the city's right of way between the sidewalk and the road which of course in most places is nice manicured lawns that people don't think there is an easement on. We literally had to do this in front of thousands of homes and oh boy people got mad. We were there a few weeks and we dreaded working on weekends when people were home and out in their yards to see and yell at us. I speak some Spanish but not good enough to understand exactly what those angry Cubans were saying at 90 miles per hour.
