The crew chief claims the I-man is scared of cattle. Dropped the GPS and ran. It does look like the guys have piqued the herd's interest.
They did run across what looks like an old dugout/sod house near Chickasha, Oklahoma this morning.
Was that pic of the duggie taken "this mornin"...or "yesterdee mornin" ?
(Reason I'm asking: I'm only a few miles from Chickasha and we've got cloud cover. If it's that sunny down there, I'm gonna drive there for lunch!)
I sure couldn't tell you. The crew emailed it in at 7:48 this morning, so it could be break of dawn stuff or more likely yesterday's work. I reread the email and the landowner claims it's a munitions bunker. That seems odd to me, looking at the construction.
"KMZ FILE OUTLINING A WORLD WAR II AMMO BUNKER WHICH LAND OWNER OF LINE LIST ITEM #16 STATED MAY BE A CULTURAL RESOURCE RELATED TO THE PRISONER OF WAR CAMP LOCATED IN CHICKASHA DURING THAT ERA."
:gammon:
Those guys are waiting for you to turn your back so they can ramble over everything and leave slobber and hoof prints and maybe a few patties of cover.
😉
Hey! There's ol' Delbert on the far, far left bringin' up the rear as usual. That boy's always been a bit slow in the head and on hoof.
C D Roots? Dat means u found a root cellar. Ammo/shmammo that things way more than 70 years old.
When I got my first summer job chaining, I was sent out across a field to take shots on an existing pole like. About halfway across the field, all of the cows had started to mosey around me. They kept their distance (100 feet or so) but kept staring at me. When I moved, they'd move too. I was a bit freaked out by this.
I asked the party chief over the radio what he thought of this. He said, "Oh they probably think you're supposed to bring them food."
About 10 minutes later, the land owner came driving across the field, dropping bales of alfalfa. And the cows went scooting over to that.
Interesting experience, that's for sure.
