Has anybody used this Parani with the extended battery pack. I have the older sd100's on my Topcon robot but like the idea of having the battery completely built in and it seems the extended battery pack lasts 16 hours. Are they worth it?

I'm running an 802a with them and use the extended batteries. They outlast my nomad and their range gets me beyond the guns ability to re-aquire the prism.

If you can't run power from the DC (as several have shown on this site), I'd go with them. From my experience, though, by the time they show low battery, they're more or less done.

I use them with my Topcon robot and Nomad data collector. I've never had my Parani radios go dead if they were fully charged the night before.

My experience is the same as Chris' above. They are well worth the price. I also have the usb adapter and can run them off of a small AA battery pack, just in case you forget to charge them the night before. Don't ask me how I know that!
