In the pictures bellow
1. the claw is RAM Small Tough-Claw䋢 with 1" Diameter Rubber Ball
2. the arm is RAM Double Socket Arm for 1" Balls (Overall Length: 3.69")
3. the x-grip X-Gripå¨ 9"-10" Tablet Mounts

9"-10" tablet mount for the toughbook would be too big but the RAM Double Socket Arm should be ok. one part of a claw has smaller radius than pogo, so there is a little gap betwen them, the other part of the claw has radius that perfectly fits pogo

I used that pole mount for a while. But it was not secure. I tripped one day and the touphpad feel out of that mount onto concrete. So I designed my own 3d printed case with ball mount for the Panasonic FZ-M1.

Here is a link to print your own. I don't have a 3d printer.

I purchased two of the mounts that Lee made and they work great, especially if you go with the extended battery. Most of the Panasonic units come with the bridge battery which stick out a bit and prevents the x-grip and ram mount type mounts from securing it safely.

Finally got one of these. It's working great with ts12 and radio handle got out about 900' which is almost double what I got with my algiz 7

Ease,

Be very careful with that universal tablet holder & ram mount. When my tablet feel out of that onto concrete, it cost me $500 to repair the screen. That is what prompted me to create my own mount with protective case.

Thank you. Yes I saw your mount. Can you post some pictures of it as it comes from shapeways? I have a 3d printer so I'm having a real hard time sending shapeways $200 for it. Would you sell me the STL? I'm just starting to figure out how to print nylon reliably.

Honestly though, this mount seems pretty solid. All it really needs is a locking tab at the back and a drill hole for the camera, but feel much more confident in this one than the one for the handheld algiz I had previously.

Are you on windows 10? Have you noticed it's a bit slow? (seems like it's disk speed related)

What software are you using for data collection with the robot?

I use Windows 10 with Magnet Field, no I do NOT notice it being slow at all. You do need to disable table mode in Win 10. I have seen Carlson SurvPC be slow on the Win 10 tablet.

Even if you created your own model and sent to be 3D printed by shapeways, their printing cost is $160 for material and volume space. They use SLS printers, which starts a powder.

I have had novice try with extrusion type 3d printers. Results are less than satisfactory.

I'm running SurvPC. When just that is open it runs great I do get a ton of lag if I try to open a web browser at the same time. I'm just curious, what model fzm1 do you have? Behind the battery I have FZ-M1CEAAXCM.

I was hoping I'd be able to run civil 3d on this docked to a monitor in the van. It's specs say it should be able to. We'll see.

I have two FZ-M1 similar to yours, but I have internal 4G modem along with
Intel i5 processor
8GB RAM
128GB SSD

I can run Microstation on it, but the weakest part is the graphics card. Very weak graphics for CAD work. But still works great for a quick distance, angle area calc.

I can do nearly all I need to do in Magnet Field. It will auto load Aerial imagery from Bing Maps in the backround.

That looks like the way I have my Mesa2 tablet mounted on the rod pole. Works very well for me and very stable.

I highly recommend the Carlson RT3 (same as Mesa2) tablet running Windows 10 and SurvPC. Very fast and efficient data collector, and the cost is comparable to a standard style data collector. Long-range bluetooth will reach out past 1000'. Been using it a couple of months and would never go back.

hey Gary - I would be interested in talking about your data collector setup, as I am looking to go that route as well. I can't send PMS yet on this forum, but feel free to get in touch if you don't mind

Hey, can i check what radio handle are you using for your Leica TS12? it seems the old radio handle are unable to connect, is it true I have to change them to the RH16 or Rh17 Handle to able to connect to the Tablet via bluetooth?

?ÿ

FYI I am using the 1201 and my dealer is not sure about it and does allow testing before buying...

@leegreen

a real dredge on an old thread but have to try.  Wondering if you know if this issue was limited to the windows tablets or may be the same with the FZ-B2 which I am pairing with a Zoom90 which has the long range handle. Doesn't seem to be getting the 275m/900ft others are talking about and wondering if its a firmware issue so searched and found this thread.

@lukenz

The problems discussed here were caused by OS software issues, Windows 8.1 specifically. Windows 10 corrected the issue. Your device (FZ-B2 uses the Android operating system. I have no familiarity with that OS, except on a cell phone. Have you tried to update to the latest OS?
