I was reading the latest today on the Anthony murder trial and saw that a land surveyors name had come up. Just curious if anyone knows this guy...?

Angel,

Don't know him personally but the name of his company is "Allen and Company". A very reputable firm in Orlando. Between "The case against Casey", Nancy Grace (ugh), and WFTV.com (live video) I can't pry SWMBO away from the TV or computer whatsoever. The damn DVR is bursting at the seams and the only time SWMBO moves it to take a leak or brew coffee.:-P Thank god for frozen pizza and beer! 🙂

Have a great Sunday and tell the rest of the tribe and critters I said Hey!

Apparently he did a forensic survey of the scene and is providing expert testimony.

We do surveys for civil cost recovery on fire scenes but I haven't had one make it to court yet. Usually they settle. Sometimes I think we are there just to put on a show for the alleged responsible party's claims representative. One was wandering around, watching and asking questions and we were wondering who she was until the lead investigator told us and at that point I figured we were demonstrating what we are capable of.

FL/GA & Dave....

FL/GA, it may be a woman thing... I've been watching intently as well as reading about it online. (I'll have to check out your WFTV link!) ANY normal mother would be hysterical beyond belief if her child was missing!! I know! I've lived it!! (My daughter was "snatched" for a few days back in 1997... I was a wreck.)

If I could I'd reach through the TV into that courtroom and smack the !@#$% out of that !@#$% I would!!! (No, not Nancy Grace. Although Wendell would probably like that!) 😛

I liked how Dr. G didn't let that defense attorney try to twist her words...she told it how it was from a coroners view and a mothers view.

Dave, do they get paid to provide the survey and the "expert" testimony?? I've always wondered about that.

Have to admit I do find the Anthony case somewhat intriguing.

But I agree about Grace. She is unbearable. I caught the first few seconds of her talking about the girl's body. "Tufts of HAIR on the SKULLL...among the...DIRT..and..IVYYYY". I could not get to the remote quicker.

Angel ...

Certainly Experts get paid in murder trials. I have. I'm listed in the Florida District Attorneys' & Public Defenders' Guide to Expert Witnesses.

The family and I were in Orlando when the girl was announced as being missing and the search began. I've been following it occaisionally since.

I really haven't watched the trial, but is the evidence strong? I heard some legal analysts' commentaries that said they thought that if this evidence was all that they had on Casey, then there is a high chance of acquital.

True, but that doesn't prove that she murdered the child - although I think that it is likely she did.

I'd smack Nancy Grace. Casey Anthony is too pathetic to warrant the effort.

The defense theory that the child died in an accident and then the mother panicked is at least plausible enough to keep Casey Anthony out of the gas chamber (or whatever they do in Florida).

Grace is a tool. Flashing the ugly headlines in an effort to get ratings. Myself, I always that the grandparents were involved somehow.

Or maybe it was Col. Mustard...

FL/GA & Dave....

They used to ride the lightning on Old Sparky here in Florida, but now I think they use Lethal injection. Don't quite remember though.
