NYSAPLS Conference

I wanted to introduce myself, but every time I ran into you, you were busy with someone. One of these days.

I thought it was a good Conference. The Turning Stone is a good venue, and would be even better if they banned smoking like most places do, but being a sovereign nation, I guess they can do what they wish. Food and room were good.

Courses I attended were worth the time. I am still thinking about Mr. Stahl's possession vs. record concept. It makes sense where lines are vague in rural areas, not so much in Westchester where the lots have been platted for a very long time and the municipality has created a huge approval machine for any lot issues. The 'porcupine corner' session was good too; all were.

Did you ever hear the final number of attendees?

The only time I was free that entire event was when people were in classes! The smoking bugs me too but at least it is banned in most of the event area.

I heard great things about that class. The DEC guys were talking about it a lot and one of my guys also liked it. Sometimes it's good to have a speaker on a controversial topic! Makes you think.

I think the total count was around 675 not including speakers or vendors. I am pretty sure we filled every vendor booth we had available as well.

Give me a buzz sometime. I'd be happy to meet over a beer or coffee someday.

Turning Stone is a great location, I have been there, BUT NOT to this conference, can't speak to the specifics other than to say that a good venue goes along way towards a successful conference.

Just got back from the Oregon conference last week, same location for the last number of years and they do a good job, it is always a crap shoot to change venues when you have one that is working even if it kind of boring seeing the same location every year.
