Found these two section corner monuments this week.

This one was very easy just drove up right to it, it is the southeast corner of Section 20:

It makes nice wallpaper for my Iphone

This next one took a couple of hours to find; its the northeast corner of Section 20. It sits about 100 south of where I thought it should be. And there are half a hundred stones to look at closer to where I thought it should be and a number of natural outcrops. The original stone was reduced to rubble and this one larger portion lying on it's side. No doubt what it was once found. Nice notches along what would have been the east face. And a part of the stone was still set in the ground. Set a 3" aluminum cap and buried the broken marked piece alongside the new monument:

Very good efforts and rewarded results. This will encourage me to keep looking a hundred feet away for a couple hours next time I am out hunting for sec stones (pronounced sex stones, just keep in mind they are just f$&?-ing rocks). 🙂

Where are you?

Looks almost exactly like the marks on the stone on the township line I found for you all a few years back. Aprox. 600 ft. from where the BLM remonumented the dependent resurvey line and the WRONG line based upon testimony only! Like the tow truck driver who pulled me and my 4WD out of Lodge Pole Creek today...."You never know where they end up". The best part of original survey retracement is knowing where to look. That in itself is an art based upon experience and knowledge.

Doing my old goat thing and just put a full screen photo of the USS Ammen DD 527 up for background. First ship, some good memory's, thinking about who did what and where, living spaces, battle stations at the guns or hedgehogs and those other things that happen on such ships to those who sail on them that are fond memory's not appreciated at the time. Really enjoyed my time on that ship up until things went to -ell.
