Greetings
OGUG, Oregon GPS User's Group, has revamped the web site. www.ogug.netTake a look and let me know what you think. There seems to be on thing I haven't figured out yet and that is why my laptop displays the background of the pages in a lavender color when it should be a tan color. Any of you guys get something besides tan back ground? So far it seems to only happen on my laptop.
Another cool feature is that the new site comes up on smart phones too.
I would call it mauve. Definitely not tan. And not what I think of as lavender.
Thanks Dave
I see a tan background on all pages. And a dark brown band at the bottom of the pages.
Some browsers might render colors or fonts differently. I'm using Chrome on a desktop.
Then I tried your site in IE 11 and see the same colors.
In both browsers, I see the "Bylaws" text run past the tan background and dark brown bottom ribbon. You might want to look into that.
The "Dues Notice" tab has a much larger tan text box than needed. Perhaps the size of the tan background was swapped between the "Bylaws" and "Dues Notice" tabs....
Otherwise, looks like a nicely done site!
Jeff
Thanks Jeff
I have passed your comments on to the web designer.
I'm getting the tan color. Good looking site. Nicely done.
Thanks Norman
Might we see you at the User's Group meeting June 11 in Bend? See the web page for list of speakers plus there is a free continental breakfast a great lunch for free to members. It is only $12/yr for membership.
Tan top, brown bottom. Nice looking site, John.
Lots of "members", few current on dues. Only $12 per year, folks.

Wish I could take credit for the site but Jim Lahm is the one who did all the work.
Will you be at the OGUG meeting in Bend June 11? See the website for details. This is going to be a very informative meeting. If you miss it you'll be sorry!
Hi, John.
I'll be there.
The OGUG web page appearance on a Mac using the Camino browser:

Page rendering is slow. It gives the impression that it is overburdened with javascript.

Thanks for the reply. I'll forward it to our web person.

Here is an update for our web guy. He said Camino is an old browser and you might want to update. See this link
Thanks for your reply.
Camino development stopped as the web page accessed with the "link" you listed states. However, usage of the browser has not stopped and the alternatives suggested on that web page work only for those with newer computers. A new computer, or pretty much anything "new" given the continually depressed state of our local economy, is not in the foreseeable future, a part of my budget. I'm not the only one in this predicament. There are a lot of older computers and browsers out there and some web page designers are cognizant of that and design web pages accordingly. It is mostly a matter of choice, sometimes as little as checking a square in a web page design program dialogue box, on the web page designer's part.
For me, I'll stay with my Mac and Camino browser. The preponderance of web pages I view work OK. As a matter of personal choice, no problem, the few web pages that don't work probably don't need to appear on my screen. When confronted with "It's my way or the highway," I am on the highway before the statement is finished.
Regardless of any web page difficulties, only the best intentions for the organization.
