Well how about that? 5.1 magnitude earthquake along the old Appalachian Mountains. I was at the kitchen table when I felt the shudder, thought to look at the clock after a delay, and it showed 8:09. We're about a hundred miles from Sparta by road. I don't suppose earthquakes follow roads, though.

We had one a while back, weaker but closer epicenter, that rattled the sheet metal under the house. This one was just a brief hiccup.

Stuff's moving everywhere, I guess.

I happened to be setting on the throne when I felt the earth rumble. The floor and toilet seem to roll like a boat at sea. I'm about 100 miles South of the epicenter. It amazes me that the ripples can be felt that far away.

@adam

My sister lives in your area code and she felt a strong lengthy shock also. We just had a little bump.

That I-77 corridor must be a strong conduit.
