Is the color coding just for you? So you know which one to grab? Do you put the paint end down in case there is a disputed moon light movement of your points?

1/2", 5/8", 3/4" and 7/8" rebar in 30" lengths.

Why so many different rebar diameters?

Are you a surveyor or a supplier? Seriously, I cannot understand the need for so much variety.

My old employer had 3 sizes of 24" rebar 1/2" for project control(red plastic cap, red painted rebar) 5/8 for corner markers (yellow plastic cap, yellow painted rebar),and 3/4 for sec cors or mons (aluminum cap on blue rebar).

i took it one step simpler. Everything is set for 5/8 rebar.

I gave up golf a decade ago, but this looks like the surveyor equivalent of "I already have a 56 degree wedge with a 12 degree bounce angle, but I really could up my game with a 58/10"?ÿ

The office has lots of different monument types. Each one from the screw together ones to the little concrete stems have their uses.?ÿ

I picked up 10 sticks of 5/8 rebar yesterday.

Price of 2-bit rebar = $12.25 for 20 feet

By the time they are cut more like $1 per foot.

back in 1981 I had time (very little work) and very little money.
one buddy had a welding shop with a bandsaw that I borrowed to cut my own, it was similar to this

bandsaw

another buddy had a motorcycle shop with a power hacksaw similar to this

power hacksaw

with either one I could load a dozen or so 20' iron pipes and rather rapidly cut to desired length... I preferred the bandsaw, ended up buying a used one. Sold it to a local shop years later.

options, we have many.

That power hacksaw is an updated version of the one that sat on the floor at the machine shop that cut small guage rail in 4ft lengths for us back in the early 1970s.

When the cut was made the arm would drop down and activate an off switch.

both the hacksaw and the band saw had those automatic off switches. I wish I had the space for one today.
