Did we all see this?
Ron is retiring and sold StarNet to Micro Survey.

As Microsurvey user in both field and office, this is a good fit.

I hope they don't improve it to death. The greatest strength of Star*Net is that you don't have to "upgrade" it constantly. I guess that strength doesn't make it a money machine for the software company.

I agree! Microsurvey is a great company.

I agree, Mark. Ron Sawyer's record of making bulletproof, yet powerful software has been remarkably good and a target for future development.
I think that I'd focus development on the data collector and GPS import conversions.
Still trying to convince Darcy Detlor to 'do' a bit of software tweaking that will allow YOS to hove rover a numerical text, click and convert between metric and imperial units with a font/col(u)r option.
Cheers

Darcy, Posted a nice reply on the "Other site".
WHAT!?!?! The Canucks are taking over EVERYTHING!!
1ST RPLS.com traffic-
now STAR*NET!?!?!
do you supposed that now to fix a coordinate, instead of ! ! ! , we'll have to enter eh?
Correct syntax: "taking over everything, EH?"
> do you supposed that now to fix a coordinate, instead of ! ! ! , we'll have to enter eh?
No, Mark, the "EH?" will be used for weighting approximate coordinates instead of the asterisk that is presently used.
WHAT!?!?! The Canucks are taking over EVERYTHING!!
Nah...we're just taking over the good stuff.

Microsurvey is OK but they really should purchase a copy of Carlson Survey and make their annotation routines like that.
And the one-way arc thing in the Cogo command is weird; Carlson asks you right or left.
Overall Microsurvey Cogo is the most useable part of the program. I use it because that is what I have at the State (unless I use my own computer) and it beats Civil3D by a mile easily.
