Thought I would share a few photos of a bridge I recently worked on. I posted a few of these earlier, but the bridge is finished and I wanted to post a few of the photos I have taken recently. All of the photos were taken with a $89 Canon A490 pocket camera.

The trees were removed by a local logging company. Mt. Shasta is in the background.

A great photo showing the false work and crane barge. The crane barge was set up with several large winches that enabled the barge to move parallel to the false work barge during erection.

Here a welder is performing a full penetration splice weld. Each splice weld required approx. 8 hours of welding. The welds had to be ultrasonic inspected and repaired if any flaws were found.

Working at this location was not terrible compared to some of the other jobs I have worked on.

Looking up the Wagon Creek Arm of Lake Siskiyou. Mt. Shasta is covered up with clouds.

Considering how unique this bridge is to our county, someone felt it would be fitting to have a ribbon cutting ceremony.

They even thought a plaque was necessary. I did not want my name on the plaque, but the more I think of it, the cooler it is thinking that my name will be in bronze for.....who knows how long. Maybe I have impacted future generations with my small contribution?

I really like this shot looking north. The reflection of the bridge and the sky off the water was amazing and was not captured well enough. It is made up of 3 different photos.

I was able to get this photo before the leaves fell. Couple days later, it rained 4" in 2 days. Needless to say most of the leaves that were going to fall did.

Another photo composed of several images.

One last photo showing the completed bridge.

Nice project......and it's good to be recognized, so don't worry about being on the plaque.

Maybe it will generate more business.

I'm a Public Works employee, so as long as everyone is driving on the roads, we have all the business we can handle. JRL

That is a beautiful design and build. It really seems to fit in with the surrounding views. I love the flooring as it gives it a more 'rustic' appeal with the trees, water and mountains.

Good Job. Functional and a work of art.
