If there is anyone desiring a small retracement in Virginia, please contact me privately. A colleague needs some help with Dominion Court in McLean.

There are words that I watch for. They are indicators of a low profit margin.
Small
Retracement
Little ole job.
Shouldn't take you very long.
Nothin much
I can show you bout where the corners are
Small survey.
Just one line.
Fit me into your schedule.
Short job.
Need it fast
Yours contains 2 of those key words, or phrases.
Baiting surveyors like this will go better:
"We need some surveying, could be a big job... Lets get it done... Don't need estimate. Just need it right...here's a retainer..."

yes, you are right, nate. i am trying to help a colleague with a project in a state that i am not licensed in.

i, too, have gotten calls for 'my plat has coordinates on it' (no longer supported- old datum coordinates). 'it is only for one line' and so on

take the project, don't take the project. up to the bidder. just sending out a possibility

Is Dominion Court a site location or the final survey destination?

You forgot, "I know where all the corners are (pins, rods, stakes, square concrete things, and pink birthday ribbon) so all you have to do is give me a sealed map. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes"..................

SIGH!

"I don't have a lot of money, you know!"

I've never understood why people think that statement is an incentive for me to work on their project.
