I want to use the elevation from a benchmark near my site. It doesn't have a northing and easting. I know how to do it in carlson, but magnet wont accept my point with 0,0,100 coordinates. Would it work if I took a observation and then adjusted the z value to match the benchmark and then localize using vertical only?

Are you using GPS or Robot?

Should use Remote Bench routine.

No need for North or East. Tap on the Point Selection, it will change to Elevation. Enter only elevation. It will prompt you to create you point or adjust the elev of current occupied point.

With GNSS using a VRS/RTN network.

Locate the BM with 180 epoch.
Go to Edit >Points
Select the BM, Add point BM1
Change the Elevation to record elev.
In TOPO set the point id to BM1 and Locate again with 180 epochs

You will be prompted by Magnet that the point already exists, Select ADJUST BASE.
Now all locations will be on the record vertical datum.

Under the Survey Configuration for your Network GPS be sure to toggle ON the option
"Apply base correction to all VRS bases"
