E. W. Pettigrew, Civil Engineer and Surveyor, produced a number of survey plans in Sudbury & Concord, MA during the 1940's and early 1950's. I have a project for which his survey records, especially his field notes, may be very informative. Then again, they might serve best as bird cage liner. Won't know unless I can get a look at them. If anyone knows what may have happened to his records, I would appreciate that info.

He appears to have been a resident of Sudbury.?ÿ He is named in the Town Report for 1950 as serving on a couple of committees, and also on the 1957 property valuation list.

And I just found the 1975 Town Report where recognition for civic contributions and condolences for his family are given, so he apparently passed away that year.

They're all long shots, but have you checked with the Sudbury Historic Commission? The Town Clerk? The DPW? The Goodnow Library? Might be worth running an ad in the Sudbury Town Crier. I'll be curious to see how this turns out.

His name doesn't appear in the "Directory of Retired or Deceased Land Surveyors Records" list from MALSCE.?ÿ Copy I have is from January '82.?ÿ?ÿ I don't believe that has ever been updated.?ÿ?ÿ Local town engineers in the area might be a place to check.?ÿ Especially if you catch someone who is about to retire.

I have inquiries out to Sudbury Historical Society, and the Wayside Inn archivist. I haven't checked those other places, yet.
