Heard on the sports radio today, this was the trend. You could probably cover shorts and vests in one deal with these.

This is awful on so many levels. I like how it's hot enough to wear shorts but cool enough to wear a fur coat.

I am in the long pants only camp. I never wear shorts to work. I work on construction sites most of the time and it is not allowed anyway, but I also find it somewhat unprofessional looking.

Not the shorts, not the boats, not the 3 story house, and someone is gonna be pissed when they get their water bill, that's a huge puddle behind you!

I personally think it's up to the individual.

While I will admit that some employees in shorts are easier on the eyes than others; boots are generally a desirable choice in any situation.

My collapse is usually due to hypoxia brought on from a mile long uphill hike over several tall fences while carrying way too much gear.

But your body has a way of taking care of itself. In other words: Sometimes a "nap" happens whether it was planned or not. 😉

SURVEY NAKED! Story has it that one warm spring day in the low desert of Palm Springs California area, crew had stripped down to just shorts and boots when the temps got up into the 90's. When they got to the 100's the instrument man looks through the gun to take the next grid shot in the large sandy field to see his rod man had stripped down to just boots. Note the rod man was also the company owner. Fun place to work in the 80's. Jp

Being a member of the "flower child" generation I found myself (more than once) cavorting nekkid with my hippie girl friend (yes she wore granny glasses) in the great outdoors. I can tell you from direct observation and experience that certain parts of your anatomy are prone to sunburn in a very short period of time.

painful to say the least....

That might take some of the fun out of the cavorting...

Just rub some lotion on it; you should be fine...

When at university doing an engineering degree in the late 80's we had summer holiday jobs at the council. There, all "established" men wore shorts and socks up to the knee. It was at that time that grey slip-on shoes were also de rigueur. At the first council Christmas party I went to, streaking was still socially acceptable and every 10 minutes or so the door to the function room would burst open and a member of staff - mostly senior management - would rip though naked.

Our CLSA chapter awarded a $1000 annual scholarship to a second year student at the community college. We usually had 6 or 8 good applicants. We had a 4 or 5 member interview team, some Surveyors, some Engineers.
To be as fair as possible we took turns asking the same canned questions. One year, when we were done, I asked each of them "who among us do you think are Surveyors or Engineers?"
They all guessed the same. The very Casualty dressed were deemed Surveyors, and the formally dressed were deemed Engineers. They were All wrong!

Where's the "Do Not Like" button?

But then again the Kiwi male has never been known for sartorial elegance

It took me a long time to overwrite that image in my head with more useful info like "when was the last time I trimmed the dog's claws." I was finally rid of it and then....

I'll get you back for this one day Warren.
