Hi guys!
Is Viva and Captivate synchronized? Is Viva and Captivate interoperable? Can I control Captivate total station like MS60 or TS16 with a CS15 Viva data collector? Or can I control Viva GNSS with a CS20 Captivate data collector? If yes, are they synchronized between the devices?
Thank you.
Any experience? Thank you.
Not sure what you mean by synchronised?
There is a level of compatibility between Captivate software and older hardware. I think there is a chart you will need to find a showing compatibility. Firmware revision comes into play on the hardware, and the version of Captivate.
Not sure about Viva and newer hardware. I doubt it.

If I understand your question correctly, I believe the answer is newer controllers will control older hardware, but older controllers won't control newer hardware.
As I understand it (was told by leica rep):
CS20 & TS15 = ok
CS15 & TS16 = no
CS20 & GS15 = ok
CS15 & GS16 = no
CS20 & GS08plus = ok
I can confirm that Viva/Smartworks/CS15 will not drive a MS60/TS16 or a GS16 and captivate can not be installed on a CS15. CS20/Captivate will run anything back to a TCR1200, maybe earlier however I only have personal knowledge of the 1200.
I heard somewhere that Captivate can only communicate to a Viva hardware like the old GS14 if loaded with firmware version not older than ??. I don't know what exact version it was.
What I am trying to figure out here is with regards to my next hardware purchase. I have on hand the MS60 (obviously Captivate) and the old GS14 (Viva) with corresponding CS20 and CS15 data controllers/collectors. If I buy a TS15 to augment my GS14, the Viva solution is accomplished leaving the MS60 Captivate without GNSS augmentation thus an incomplete solution. If I buy a GS15/GS16 Captivate to augment my MS60, Captivate solution is accomplished leaving the GS14 Viva without a TS augmentation thus an incomplete solution.
My question on synchronicity is about the idea of synchronized environment. If a TS16 Captivate can be controlled with CS15 Viva data collection system, how GUI appears in CS Viva and in TS Captivate during execution of a command is probably my next question. If CS15 Viva can't indeed control a Captivate hardware then I rest my case.
Thanks for sharing.

This is accurate
