I'm new to my Leica equipment and I'm having trouble using it to collect a Rinex file for Opus. I'm using a CS15 controller with SmartWorx Viva (5.50) and a GS14 base station. Can anyone out there help me find instructions for how to do this?
I use the GS14, too, but only for rtk work. Another surveying company local to me uses the gs14, too, but only for static/opus work. Their method is to record the shot for over two hours (we are outside the RS OPUS area) and then using Leica Geo Office they export as a rinex file.
I hope this is of some help.

Briefly, you want to first be sure that your GS-14 is logging static data in addition to RTK. Check your GPS raw data logging settings. You download the VIVA CS-15 using a USB clip or card. When you download to your computer, use the CS-15 Tools to TRANSFER the job file which should be stored in the .dbx directory. In Leica LGO (or whatever their new office software is called), you import that job into a LGO project in WGS84 coordinate system. Your RINEX job presumably contains a single point observation for the base station occupation. Once the point is in LGO, use the EXPORT command on the toolbar to export the observation in RINEX format to submit to OPUS. It assigns it a default file name. Be sure to use RINEX 2.6 format (??) not 3.0 (??). Sorry I am not in the office to give you exact directions. Hope this helps.
Thanks and regards,
Mike
SurvLA,
Are you looking for step by step instructions? If so, I have done it many time using the GS15 and it should be relatively the same setup.
1) Open the battery compartment and put in the SD card in (i think the GS14 uses a Micro SD)
2) You mentioned using the GS14 as a base, so connect to base via BT
3) Go to Instrument, Base settings, raw data logging and check the box on. Make sure data type is MDB
4) the SD card light should start to blink green saying its collecting data
5) When done uncheck the raw data logging box to stop
6) Remove the SD card and insert it in PC and browse to DBX folder
7) Copy the moo file (example: 8515_1220_075126.m00)
8) in OPUS, select the moo file, no conversion necessary.
good luck
Thanks for the help! This forum is a great resource. I will go out and give this a try...

That is a realy complicated way to do this. All you need to do is uploadthe moo file from the SD card to OPUS. No Leica software is required.
