I'd really be thankful if anyone has an onboard format file that outputs a P,N.E,Z,D comma delimited Ascii file (in feet) from a Leica 1200 series robot. My email is "sels at inbox dot com." I have one that outputs in European style format and am doing a conversion process in Excel but it's kind of like a trapeze act.

Just to clarify: The format files used on-board and off-board are different. I do have LGO but was hoping to find a format file I can put onboard and use "convert" to create the ascii and then go straight to Carlson with the cf card.

You can create a format file meeting your specific needs in LGO. Just use the 'Format Manager' under the Tools pull down. Be sure to specify your units and output format before you ad the fields. I is probably quicker than waiting for someone to send you one and in give you a chance to see what exactly you can have the instrument output.

Good luck.

P.s. I would send one if I had it but I usually send raw data out from the gun.

Thanks for those that emailed me. Bruce Small sent a format file that worked. 🙂
Strangely enough, I already had the file onboard the instrument but I assumed that
since the format file included the word gps it would not work for the robot.
I'm soooo glad to get that out of the way. God bless Bruce Small for steering me in the right direction.

I think what you got what you need by now.

In the future, keep in mind that you can register your equipment on Leica MyWorld and you would have access to a number of file formats there, along with a lot more!

Thanks for the vote of confidence. On this one I figured I'd ask for help - I just bought some gps equipment and that's my next challenge.
