When the destruction of a USCGS BM, or similar, is necessary due to a bridge replacement. What type of procedures do you follow other than the obvious contacting of NOAA?

During my time as State Regional Surveyor for AKDOT, we would set a new Benchmark out of the work zone, loop through, and submit to NGS as part of the construction pre-design and post-construction work. Sometimes re-establishment was back in new bridge structure.
