Has anyone successfully connected their Trimble TSC2 with OS Win Mob 5 to their iPhone hotspot?
I cannot seem to gitter done and I exhausted my on-line research. I know there must be those out there with far better tech savyness than me that will have the answer, which actually might be, you can't do it. I'd love to know, either way, but of course connecting successfully would be the preferred answer and how to do it !

Thank you.

I think I read somewhere where there is a problem with IPhones and TSC2 wifi connections.....I had a windows phone and had to go to an Android phone to be able to connect my TSC2 with mobile hot spot......now yesterday I tried connecting so I could use VRS and it won't connect....show's connecting and available on the TSC2 wifi but won't connect to my mobile hotspot for some reason....it worked a couple of weeks ago....

I was going to chime in with the same comments. Apple products, iPhones in particular do NOT support WiFi Hot Spot connection to GNSS receivers. iPhones will make a Bluetooth connect to an ear bud for hands free driving, but try to make a Bluetooth connection to your GNSS Receiver, forget about it, ain't never gonna happen.

iPhones, iPads,IWhatever devices don't support Bluetooth Serial connection to GNSS receivers. Unless the developers want to shell out BIG $ to Apple.
Makes the Android O/S look smarter and better everyday. It's no wonder Android O/S has 52% market share over Apple and the Android gap continues to widen

I don't know if we are talking about the same thing, but when I first got my Leica GS14 I was using either my iphone 5 or ipod to connect to the NC VRS using Verizon. The only problem I was having was when I got a call on the ipone the GPS would be knocked off, so I got a Verizon and AT&T hot spot so I can get connected about anywhere now with one of them.

Change the name of your iphone in the settings area. Windows Mobile doesn't like the underscore that is typically in the default name. Change the name to something simple, like phone or survey. Also turn off security, it must be set to open.

As far as I know it's not possible to connect a TSC2 to an iPhone.

Slightly off topic, but all I have to do to get my LT30 data collecter to recognize my iPhone hotspot is to clear out the device "Brad's iPhone" from my LT30's memory so that every connection is like it is connecting for the first time. Not a big deal really, and it allows me to take calls and stays connected to the internet, and I am not paying any extra for a dedicated puck.

I have been working long and hard to get my Ranger 300x (using an SDIO wifi card) to work with my iPhone, MiFi hotspot, Android phone etc. I gave up. I came to the conclusion that the drivers used for 811.11b wifi that WM5 understands don't work with the modern security protocols such as WPA2 that are used with todays wifi connections. My 2 cents...

Has anybody tried it with the USB cable? I have a TSC3, but I haven't tried it.
