Right before the test started today, I struck up a conversation with a fellow also taking the test. I talked about how I failed the test last fall and told him one of the questions I missed. Well, he couldn't answer it, and I whooped out my study materials and showed him the right answer (the test is closed book). Well, I'll be danged if that wasn't the very first question on the test. He finished before I did and left. So, if anyone knows a surveyor from Utah that does a lot of power line surveying, tell him he owes me supper, haha.
Tommy
Sometimes the answers we get wrong and then research the correct answer are the ones that stay with us the longest. I still remember the answer to a problem from the SIT exam that I missed in 1981 because I went back and looked it up.
By the way, how many states are you licensed in now?
Andy
Now that is SOMETHING!!! Hope you did well on the test yourself.
Tommy
This will make 8 and this will wind me up, as long as I am working under the current owner. I'm not going to say I'll never take another test, but as long as I am working here and he has MS, MO and AR, I'm certainly not going to get those licenses.
I don't mind taking the tests, nor driving to the test sites. I made a trip out of it and visited some historic sites in Corydon and Vincennes. The continuing education is the big headache.
Tommy
I agree about the continuing education. With that many licenses you could spend a month a year just keeping up. I have always enjoyed con ed classes, if for no other reason than to meet other surveyors, but you can get too much of a good thing.
Andy
I passed.
