If one of you guys has an extra five hundreths laying around, may I please borrow it for this survey.

I appreciate anything you can do. I know that a lot of you have quite a few four hundreths sets and I really hate to impose and break up a set for the extra hundreth, but I really did not who else to ask.

I used up my last four hundreths set on that Orange County survey I did.

Thanks!

No biggie. I've got several feet on the one I'm working on right now. You can keep the change and use on some other project. 🙂

Just box up the EDM and use a steel tape & plumb bob, that way you can adjust the tension you put on the tape to get the measurement you need 😉

I've got some, but they are not cheap. I get $10 per .01' with a .04' minimum. I do offer a bulk discount though. I can get you 0.50' for $400. The only thing is the ones that come in bulk are international feet. If you need US survey feet you will have to do the conversion yourself. Shipping is free on orders over 0.2'

I officially propose a general hundredth's fund for occasions such as these.

If we all pull together and contribute, I'd bet 1.2192 centimeters we can make 80 chains within a year...

The government gives away hundredths to third world nations across the globe but here at home we have a serious shortage. Please elect leaders that will address this crisis. What we need is a War on Hundredths!

That's where all those distances that end up being XX.004', XX.006', etc. are for... they all add up to be used somewhere else. A whole bunch of lots (12) that are actually XX.004' instead of XX.00' can be your 0.05' salvation.
