Does anyone have any experience with the Hemisphere GPS Equipment manufactured in Calgary, Alberta and if so are you happy sad or indifferent?

I too would like to hear more about this equipment as I am trying to demo the new Carlson BRx5 system soon.

I just obtained the S320 system.

Overall the hardware seems to do what is required with little issue.

The combination of 430-470 MHZ UHF and GSM with logging to removable memory card is a bonus over my Trimble R8M3.

They have a strategic alliance with Carlson (you may have guessed) so they are driven by SurvCE but do not yet let you use the "live digital level" feature like the Brx5 although I imagine the hardware is identical.

If you are familiar with SurvCE you will know that it will get the job done just not as polished as the trimble software to device solution. That is a trade off for the flexibility of the device.

Lastly, the dual battery is great for hot swapping longer term jobs such as post-processed work.

Matt
